Verse 1:
          C G D
It’s been seven minutes now since I’ve lost my way
           C G D
It doesn’t seem that long but my whole world has changed
        C G D Em
It’s in all the little things, when you smile, now it stings
          C G D
It’s been seven minutes since I’ve lost the girl of my dreams
          C G D
It’s been half an hour now since I dropped you home
        C G D
And I’m driving past the places we both know
C G
Past the bar where we first kissed
         C G
And that movie that we missed
               D Em
Cause we were hanging out in the parking lot
      C G D Em
Now I sink a little deeper, think a little clearer
           C G D
Looking at myself through these newfound eyes

Pre-Chorus:
      C Em
Is it too late to turn around?
    D Em
I’m already halfway out of town
      C G
Now I know how I let you down
      D
Oh, I finally figured it out

Chorus:
            C G D Em
I forgot to love you, love you, love you
            C G D Em
I forgot to love you, love you, love you

Verse 2:
C G D
Radio’s playing songs for me and you
C G D
“Chasing Cars” reminds me of nights in your room
         C G D Em
Drinking wine under your window, back when life was so damn simple
        C G D D
How the hell did I end up losing you? Mmm

Pre-Chorus:
      C Em
Is it too late to turn around?
    D Em
I’m already halfway out of town
      C G
Now I know how I let you down
      D
Oh, I finally figured it out

Chorus:
            C D Em
I forgot to love you, love you, love you
            C D Em
I forgot to love you, love you, love you
            C D Em
I forgot to love you, love you, love you
            C D Em
I forgot to love you, love you

Bridge:
     C Em D Em C
If I came back now, would you still be there?
     C Em D Em C
If I come around, would you even care?
     C Em D Em C
If I came back now, would you still be there?
     C Em D Em C
If I come around, would you even care?

Pre-Chorus:
      C Em
Is it too late to turn around?
    D Em
I’m already halfway out of town
      C G
Now I know how I let you down
      D D
Oh, I finally figured it out

Chorus:
D C D Em
I forgot to love you, love you, love you
            C D Em
I forgot to love you, love you, love you
            C D Em
I forgot to love you, love you, love you
            C D Em
I forgot to love you, love you, love you

I know it must take some time to write down, and I appreciate it. Would you be able to put the chords on the second verse as well as the first. It’s hard to figure out the chords and play while having to scroll up and down the page. Thank you.

-1 is easier to play but I’m not completely agreeing with the Am7 chord.

Katie

-6 sounds really good, at least for me. I have a baritone and a tenor and so I started learning this on the bari but it just didn’t sound right, so I went down 6 steps and played the bari chords on my tenor, probably not a very relatable situation, but -6 is still really easy.

Try substituting the Em7 for a regular Em if you have it transposed to -6. I find this to be much nicer sounding. Hope this helps! 🙂

MintTruffleHotCocoaMix

I like replacing C with Cmaj7 and putting a capo on the second fret. Sounds nice

AND TRANSPOSED TO -6! I FORGOT THAT PART IM SORRY

anna.meyers

I think -1 sounds the best if you replace Am7 to C or A

brittabird6

If you transpose to -1, I think it sounds good to replace the Am7 with Dm everywhere but the bridge. 🙂

anna.meyers

Actually, scratch that. -1, Am7 to A. 🙂

kenziewithadream

-1 sounds best if you replace the Am7 with Am, it fits more than A to me
