Intro -x4-: Dm F A

Verse 1:
Dm F A
The devil said, "Sit and have yourself a glass"
Dm F A
He said "I know you're angry right now, but the feelin' will pass
Dm F A
So keep your cup tipped up when you're feelin' down low
             Dm F A
And when you finally forget your purpose, you'll be stumblin' on down my side of the road"

Pre-Chorus:
G Dm
Oh, you know it ain't good for you
G Dm
To keep going on like you do
G Dm A
Time's running away and it's running fast

Chorus:
   Dm F
Whoa, said I know
G F
I used to walk down the very same road
Dm F A
And if I could I'd give you some advice
Dm F
See, he don't care about you
G F
All the good, all the bad you do, no
Dm F A
He wants your life, and that's the devil's price

Yeah, the devil's price

Interlude -x2-: Dm F A

Verse 2:
Dm F A
The same devil says "Sit and have yourself a line"
Dm F A
He says, "We can make it last all day, yeah we can make it last all night
Dm F A
When you try to go to sleep I'll be in your ear
              Dm F A
Yeah, I'll be laughin' at you, the whole night through, with your paranoid eyes all full of fear"

Pre-Chorus:
G Dm
Oh, you know it ain't good for you
G Dm
To keep going on like you do
G Dm A
Time's running away and it's running fast

Chorus:
   Dm F
Whoa, said I know
G F
I used to walk down the very same road
Dm F A
And if I could I'd give you some advice
Dm F
See, he don't care about you
G F
All the good, all the bad you do, no
Dm F A
He wants your life, and that's the devil's price

Yeah, the devil's price

Interlude -x4-: Dm F A

Verse 3:
Dm F A
The devil just left, he said he had to go
Dm F A
It's funny how it works that way when you just start tellin' him no
Dm F A
So just keep on keepin' him down that way
              Dm F A
I said you're almost done, you got the devil on the run, and you ain't got no price to pay

Chorus:
Dm F
   I said I know
G F
I used to walk down the very same road
Dm F A
And I thank you kindly for taking my advice
Dm F
See, he don't care about you
G F
All the good, all the bad you do, no
Dm F A

Album: Poor Man's Poison

~Wednesday 30th of April~

Biography

Like any great band, the sound is the clear result of collaboration and compromise. Diverse influences converge into a singular consistent vision. Each component is integral, and each serve the greater whole. The effect is serious but never hopeless, thoughtful but still kinetic, with a bit of anti-authoritarianism inherent to the working class. Really, it’s a bit surprising that music this warm and optimistic was born of a near collapse amongst its creators.
