Verse 1:

So, here's the deal
C E7
I met this guy like a month ago
Am F
I got to thinking and I was like 'what the hell'
C E7
The only problem is that he's on a screen
Am
But he's the man of my dreams

C E7
In my head I had it all planned out
Am F
a little picket fence and a house -and three dogs :P-
C E7
It's stupid
                Am F
My mind is not grasping that he's on paper

Chorus:

I guess I'll just
C E7
Hold my breath and count to ten
         Am F
Why do I always fall for fictional men?
  C E7
My heart and mind won't seem to align
         Am F
'Cause I feel real things for a fake ass guy

    C E7
I'm way too old to play pretend
              Am F
But still, I always fall for fictional men
   C E7
My heart and mind won't seem to align
            Am F
'Cause I've fallen in love with a fictional guy

Verse 2:
C E7
The actor's cute, but he's like 33
Am F
I guess that's only ten years older than me -give or take-
C E7
Maybe I'm dumb or it's just quarantine
Am F
To be completely honest 2020's killing me

C E7
Come on kid, you know it kinda sucks
Am F
We get it, you've been alone for like six months
C E7
But he's not real, face the facts
Am F
This is a coping mechanism, clean up your act

Chorus:

Yeah no, I think I'm just gonna
C E7
Hold my breath and count to ten
          Am F
Why do I always fall for fictional men?
    C E7
My heart and mind won't seem to align
          Am F
'Cause I feel real things for a fake ass guy

    C E7
I'm way too old to play pretend
            Am F
But still, I always fall for fictional men
   C E7
My heart and mind won't seem to align
             Am F
'Cause I've fallen in love with a fictional guy

C E7
Hold my breath and count to ten
          Am F
Why do I always fall for fictional men?
    C E7
My heart and mind won't seem to align
         Am F
'Cause I feel real things for a fake ass guy

I'm way too old to play pretend

    C E7
My heart and mind won't seem to align

Biography

Peggy is a German power pop band, influenced by early weezer, ozma, pavement, ash and nada surf.

Bandhistory: In autumn 2001 four guys meet in a Berlin love sick support group and decide to found a band helping them to cope with their broken hearts. Named after Peggy, the girl whose refusal to respond to approximated 1.000 love letters caused their terrible heart aches, the band starts to express their deeply confused emotions through guitar focussed indie pop songs
