Intro: G F C G

Verse 1:
G F C
I found the fox in the woods
        G
She was cold and hungry
           F C
I gave her all that I could
           G
I was sure that she loved me
       F C G
And we were thick as thieves.

Verse 2:
G F C
Through the winter I kept her warm
            G
Fed her all she desired
                    F C
When she told me in so many words
                 G
I was the one to save her life
    F C G
And she would never forget
    F C G
And I would never be left.

Verse 3:

But then one day
  F C
I ran out of bread
            G
And wood to keep the fire

And when I woke
  F C
I found she had fled
             G
To the house down the river
    F C G
And I cried all night
        F C G
Because I had thought she was mine.

Outro -x2-: F C G
