Intro -x2-: E A B E

Verse 1:
E A B E
Nobody feels any pain,
           A B E
tonight is lost inside the rain
A B
Ev'rybody knows,
     A B
that Baby's got new clothes
    A Abm Gbm E B
But lately I see her ribbons and her bows,
     Dbm E A B
have fallen from her curls.

Chorus:
    E Abm Gbm A
She takes just like a woman, yes, she does
    E Abm Gbm A
She makes love just like a woman, yes, she does
        E Abm Gbm A
And she aches just like a woman
        B E
But she breaks just like a little girl.

Interlude: A E A B E

Verse 2:
E A B E
Queen Mary, she's my friend,
                    A B E
yes, I believe I'll go see her again
A B
Nobody has to guess,
A B
that Baby can't be blessed
     A Abm Gbm E B
Till she finally sees that she's like all the rest;
         Dbm E A B
with her fog, her amphetamine and her pearls.

Chorus:
    E Abm Gbm A
She takes just like a woman, yes, she does
    E Abm Gbm A
She makes love just like a woman, yes, she does
        E Abm Gbm A
And she aches just like a woman
        B E
But she breaks just like a little girl.

Interlude: A E A B E

Bridge:
       Ab7
It was raining from the first,

and I was dying there of thirst;
     E
so I came in here
         Ab7
And your long-time curse hurts,

but what's worse,
        A
is this pain in here
        B
I can't stay in here;

ain't it clear that

Verse 3:
E A B E
I just can't fit
                    A B E
Yes, I believe it's time for us to quit
A B
When we meet again,
A B
Introduced as friends;
A Abm Gbm E B
please don't let on that you knew me when,
      Dbm E A B
I was hungry and it was your world.

Chorus:
        E Abm Gbm A
Ah, you fake just like a woman, yes, you do
    E Abm Gbm A
You make love just like a woman, yes, you do
         E Abm Gbm A
Then you ache just like a woman
        B E
But you break just like a little girl.
