Verse 1:
Dm
Daylight had spoken
                F Fmaj7
So clear and so plain
                 Bbmaj7 Fsus4 Dm
I'm the keeper of nothing
           Dm
But an old flame
              F Fmaj7
Consuming the shadows
             Bbmaj7 Fsus4 Dm
Caught in the light
           Dm C
Blinded by hunger
                Bbmaj7
And fed to the night

Pre-Chorus 1:
               F C Dm
Darling, you came to me like a dream in this endless blight

Instrumental: Dm F Fmaj7 Bbmaj7 Fsus4 Dm

Verse 2:
Dm
My heart was reaching
                 F Fmaj7
So tangled, entwined
                    Bbmaj7
Like vines in the willow
         Fsus4 Dm
Serpentine killer, bound by his climbs
          F Fmaj7
Glory was calling
                     Bbmaj7 Fsus4
She wailed and she whined
          Dm D5 C
Higher and higher
               Bbmaj7
"Leave it all behind"

Pre-Chorus 2:
               F C Dm
Darling, you came to me in the glory I'd longed to find

Instrumental: Dm F Fmaj7 Bbmaj7 Fsus4 Dm

Verse 3:
Dm
My search was unending
               F Fmaj7
And my soul was bare
                 Bbmaj7 Fsus4 Dm
And Darling, you came to me like a midnight flare
           F Fmaj7
Out of the ocean
                  Bbmaj7 Fsus4
The stars had all gone
                Dm C
My heart was broken
              Bbmaj7
Lost and alone
