Verse 1:
          G G
You spent ten years with somebody
      G G
Didn't end up workin' out
        G G Dsus4 D
And it still affects you now
       G G
I spent ten years, crippled  by
       G G
Tryna be everything everybody else needs
   G G Dsus4 D
It still affects me now

Pre-Chorus:
    C G Am
And every time we end up face to face
            Bm7 C
You're overthinking from the previous day
          G D
It fades away, but you'll still find a way too

Chorus:
                        G
Make sure we're never alone 'cause it could give me hope
                Csus2
If you stay too long when you're drivin' me home
        Em Dsus4 Csus2
So you call me a friend, again and again to try and forget
                G
How we get too drunk and we get too close
                Csus2
Fallin' into each other when we already know
         Em Dsus4
We could try to resist, to keep our distance
     Csus2
Call this what it isn't
 Em Dsus4 Csus2
This has more push than it ever had pull

Post-Chorus:
                  G G Em C
We're inevitable, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh
                  G G Em C Cmaj7
We're inevitable, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh

Verse 2:
G G G
Dinners turn into talks about our families
          G G
And understandin' each other deeply
         G Dsus4 D
You look out for me and it scares me

Pre-Chorus:
    C G Am
And every time I meet someone new face to face
     Bm7 C
The pieces don't fit the same
         G Dsus4 D
It just makes me hate the way you

Chorus:
                        G
Make sure we're never alone 'cause it could give me hope
                Csus2
If you stay too long when you're drivin' me home
        Em Dsus4 Csus2
So you call me a friend, again and again to try and forget
                G
How we get too drunk and we get too close
                Csus2
Fallin' into each other when we already know
         Em Dsus4
We could try to resist, to keep our distance
     Csus2
Call this what it isn't
 Em Dsus4 Csus2
This has more push than it ever had pull

Post-Chorus:
                  G G Em C
We're inevitable, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh
                  G G Bm C
We're inevitable, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh

Bridge:
                            G G Em C
You and I, it's inevitable -Oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-
                               G G C
This was never in our control -Oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh- we're inevitable

Chorus:
                        G
Make sure we're never alone 'cause it could give me hope
                Csus2
If you stay too long when you're drivin' me home
        Em Dsus4 Csus2
So you call me a friend, again and again to try and forget
                G
How we get too drunk and we get too close
                Csus2
Fallin' into each other when we already know
         Em Dsus4
We could try to resist, to keep our distance
     Csus2
Call this what it isn't
 Em Dsus4 Csus2
This has more push than it ever had pull
       Em Dsus4 Csus2
Can we both admit it's out of our control? We're inevitable
