Intro -x2-: Bm D A

    Bm D
Well I own this feel
    Bm D
And I rode the sky
    Bm D Gb G
And I have no reason to reason with you

       Bm D
I'd be sad that I never held your hand as you lowered,
      A Bm
but I understand that I'd never let it go
                                  D
I'd be sad that I never held your hand as you were lowered,
      A Bm
But I understand the world does what it does

    G D A
You never did learn to let the little things go,
        G D A
And you never did learn to let me be.
        G D A
And you never did learn to let little people grow,
    G D A
You never did learn how to see.

      Bm D
But I whisper that I love this man now and for forever,
        A Bm
To your soul as it floats out of the window.
       G D A
To the world that you turned your back on,
       G D A
To the world that never really let you be.

     Bm D
I am lower now, and lower still,
            G D A
And you did always say that one day I would suffer,
        G D A
You did always say that people get their pay,
        G D A
You did always say that I was going places,
             G D A
And that you wouldn't have it any other way.

      Bm D
But I couldn't turn my back on a world,
                         A
For what I like wouldn't let me,
      Bm D
But i couldn't turn my back on a world,
                   A
For what I like anyday

      Bm D
And I couldn't turn my back on a world,
                         A
for what I like wouldn't let me
      Bm D
And I couldn't turn my back on a world,
                 A
for what I like I needed
      Bm
And I shouldn't turn my back,
     D A D A
on a sweet smelling Blackberry Stone.

Laura Marling (born 1st February 1990) is a folk singer/songwriter/guitarist from Eversley, United Kingdom.

She began playing the guitar at the age of five, first being taught the blues by her father in front of the family fire, and has been enthralled by the songs and lyrics of the likes of Neil Young, Bob Dylan, James Taylor and John Mayall ever since.
