Verse 1: Baby Queen & May-a
 E Gbm E A
My wildest dreams always come true
E Gbm E A
So I'm dreaming wildly about you
E Gbm E A
And I'm nothing if not persistent
E Gbm E A
So I'll think us into existence
       E Gbm
Oh the things I could do
      E A
In a hotel room all alone with you
        E Gbm
That I can't say out loud
      E A
But I think of them looking at your mouth

Pre-Chorus: Baby Queen & May-a
     E Gbm
Like an American dream, you're only in my head
    E A
And totally out of reach, but I can still pretend
     E Gbm
That one day it'll be me to get you in the end
     E A
Like an American dream

Chorus: Baby Queen & May-a
E Gbm E
Be my American, my American dream
        A E
My American, be my American dream
        Gbm E
My American, My American dream
           A
My American

Verse 2: May-a & Baby Queen
E Gbm E A
I know that I'm only human
E Gbm E A
But I manifest my delusion
E Gbm E A
And I've seen stranger things happen
E Gbm E A
To those who dare to imagine
       E Gbm
Oh the things you could be
    E A
In a hotel suite all alone with me
         E Gbm
That you won't have to hide
     E A
In a dirty dream on a lonely night

Pre-Chorus: Baby Queen & May-a
     E Gbm
Like an American dream, you're only in my head
    E A
And totally out of reach, but I can still pretend
     E Gbm
That one day it'll be me to get you in the end
      E A
Like an American dream

Chorus: Baby Queen & May-a
E Gbm E
Be my American, my American dream
          A E
My American, be my American dream
          Gbm E
My American, My American dream
           A
My American

Bridge: Baby Queen & May-a
    E Gbm
The things that I would do to you
      E A
Would break your little world in two
    E Gbm
But you go home to someone else
   E A
So I'll just do them to myself
    E Gbm
The things that I would do to you
      E A
Would shock you if you only knew
    E Gbm
But you're not near enough to tell
   E A
So I'll just do them to myself

Pre-Chorus: Baby Queen & May-a
     E Gbm
Like an American dream, you're only in my head
    E A
And totally out of reach, but I can still pretend
     E Gbm
That one day it'll be me to get you in the end
     E A
Like an American Dream

E Gbm E
Be My American, My American dream
         A E
My American, Be My American Dream
        Gbm E
My American, My American dream
          A
My American, Be My American
E Gbm E
Be My American, Be My American Dream
         A E
My American, Be My American Dream

Transpose to -1. then change the chord Db to a D, Bbm to a B, Gb to a G, and Ab to an A. That should make the song pretty easy, and it sounds amazing. You’re welcome for those of you searching on how to make it sound better and make the song easier to play.

Lauren

hi, is there anyway you could make a simplified version? this is a little too tricky

reeseswonder16

There is a key change in the middle of the song that will be a bit difficult. BUT! If you ignore it and keep it in the same key, using the same chord progressions and whatnot, it will be exponentially easier if a little deviant from the original. 🙂
