Intro: Gbm D7 Gbm D7

       Gbm D7
After years of expensive education,
   Gbm G7
A car full of books and anticipation
        Gbm Em
I'm an expert on Shakespeare and that's a hell of a lot.
         Dbm C7 Gbm D7
But the world don't need scholars as much as I thought.
    Gbm D7 Gbm
Maybe I'll go trav'ling for a year, finding myself,
    G7
Or start a career.

         Gbm Em7
I could work for the poor, though I'm hungry for fame.
  Dbm C7
We all seem so diff'rent but we're just the same.
    Gbm D7
Maybe go to the gym so I don't get fat.
        Gbm G7
Aren't things more easy with a tight six pack?
Gbm Em7
Who knows the answers, who do you trust?
  Dbm C7
I can't even separate love from lust.

    Gbm D7
Maybe move back home and pay off my loans,
         Gbm G7
Working nine to five, answering phones.
Gbm Em7
Don't make me live for my friday nights,
Dbm C7
Drinking eight pints and getting in fights.

Interlude: Gbm D7 Gbm D7 Gbm D7 Gbm D7 Gbm D7

         Gbm Em7
I don't want to get up, just let me lie in;
Dbm C7 Bmaj7
Leave me alone, I'm a twenty-something.
                Gbmaj7
Maybe I'll just fall in love.
Bmaj7 Gbmaj7
That could solve it all.
   Bmaj7 Gbmaj7
Philosophers says that that's enough.
       Dmaj7 C#aug7
There surely must be more.. oooo...

Interlude: Gbm D Gbm

                       D7
Love ain't the answer, nor is work.
     Gbm G7
The truth eludes me so much it hurts.
         Gbm Em7
But I'm still having fun and I guess that's the key.
      Dbm C7
I'm a twentysomething and I'll keep being me.

Gbm D
Do do and do do and do and do do do do
                                    Gbm
Do and do do and do and do do do do
                                    D
Do and do do and do and do do do do
                                   Gbm
Do and do do and do and do do do do
                                   D
Do and do do and do and do do do do
                              G7
Do and do do and do and do do do.

for the beyond the door play Em B Dm E Am D7 G

AHL

“Beyond the door” chords are wrong – they’re the same as before but you’ve got the bridge chords instead

ericclapton

for the “beyond that door” part it is completely wrong. totally threw me off. horrible.

MaSh

thanks! ericclapton for the tab

coolson

If you have problems with chords in original you can tune the uke to canadian tuning (ADF#B/H)

Luke

Is this the real Eric Clapton or just a wanna be

Wesley Dunn

It’s much easier and sounds good in F. You just have to transpose it -4

Cesar

Is not good:

Verse:
A E Gbm
Would you know my name,
D A E
If I saw you in heaven,
A E Gbm
Would it be the same,
D A E
If I saw you in heaven,

Kiefer

What is the strumming pattern of the song

dominique lagarde

Beyond the door…in chorus #3, not the bridge chords. 😉
