Try to watch the ukulele teacher’s tutorial of this on YouTube, it’s way easier. He used the chords C-Bb-F-C for the verses and G-Bb-C for the chorus. Also, the strumming pattern he used was DDUUD 2x for each chord (for the verse) but for the chorus the chord C will only be the one repeated twice.

Samuel

Just for anyone wondering, the riff is not in the same key as the chords. To fix this transpose it to -2 🙂

Midabsentia

If you want to play the song in the default chords, I think I may have figured out the beginning of an appropriate riff. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

bella

do -2 to match the chords with the riff, works better for singing 🙂

I LOVE THIS SONG

Izzy

Beautiful, thank you very much. I only started playing a month ago and I sound amazing already with this!

nadie

thanks the song transposed to -2 sounds even better <3

bayeeejay

playing G F C instead of G Bb C in -2 sounds better to me.

Jelle

If you want it to sound like exactly the same you have to transpose it down -2 and put a capo on the first fret

Sweetchild fan

Do you put the kapo in -2 or just playin like this ?

thanks 😉

Biography

Destiny itself assembled the Crane Wives, and now they seek only to make music worthy of destiny. That, and act as silly as humanly possible.

“The Crane Wife is an old Japanese tale. While there are many variations of the tale, a common version is that a poor man finds an injured crane on his doorstep (or outside with an arrow in it), takes it in and nurses it back to health. After he releases the crane, a woman appears at his doorstep with whom he falls in love and marries.
