Verse 1:
                              Bb
I dream of rain eh-lay-ee-lay
                                 Ab
I dream of gardens in the desert sand
                             Fm
I wake in pain eh-lay-ee-lay
                   G Cm
I dream of love as time runs through my hand
                              Bb
I dream of fire eh-lay-ee-lay
                                                 Ab
These dreams are tied to a horse that will never tire
                                 Bb
And in the flames eh-lay-ee-lay
                                           Eb
Her shadows play in the shape of a man's desire

Chorus:
                               Gm7
This desert rose eh-lay-ee-lay
                                    Bb
Each of her veils, a secret promise

This desert flower eh-lay-ee-lay
   Ab G Cm
No sweet perfume ever tortured me more than this

Verse 2:
                                Bb
And as she turns eh-lay-ee-lay
                                          Ab
This way she moves in the logic of all my dreams
                              Fm
This fire burns eh-lay-ee-lay
                               Cm
I realise that nothing's as it seems
                              Bb
I dream of rain eh-lay-ee-lay
                                 Ab
I dream of gardens in the desert sand

I wake in pain eh-lay-ee-lay
                   G7 Eb
I dream of love as time runs through my hand
                              Gm7
I dream of rain eh-lay-ee-lay
                               Bb
I lift my gaze to empty skies above

I close my eyes the rare perfume
       Ab G Cm
is the sweet intoxication of her love
