Intro -x4-: C Dm Am

Verse:
C Dm Am C Dm Am
Babe,
C Dm Am C Dm Am
there's something tragic about you
C Dm Am C Dm Am
something so magic about you
C Dm Am C Dm Am
don't you agree

Verse:
C Dm Am C Dm Am
Babe,
C Dm Am C Dm Am
there's something lonesome about you
C Dm Am C Dm Am
something so wholesome about you
C Dm Am C Dm Am
Get closer to me

Pre-Chorus:
Am G F F Am
no tight side, no rolling eyes, no irony
Am G F
no 'who cares', no vacant stares, no time for me

Chorus:
C Dm Am G F
Honey you're familiar like my mirror years ago
C Dm Am G F
Idealism sits in prison, chivalry fell on it's sword
C Dm Am G F
Innocence died screaming, honey ask me I should know
C Dm Am G F
I slithered here from eden just to sit outside your door

Verse:
C Dm Am C Dm Am
Babe,
C Dm Am C Dm Am
there's something wretched about this
C Dm Am C Dm Am
something so precious about this
C Dm Am C Dm Am
where to begin

Verse:
C Dm Am C Dm Am
Babe,
C Dm Am C Dm Am
there's something broken about this
C Dm Am C Dm Am
but I might be open about this
C Dm Am C Dm Am
oh what a sin

Pre-Chorus:
Am G F F Am
To the strand a picnic plan for you and me
Am G F
a rope in hand for your other man to hang from a tree

Chorus:
