Intro:

Mm-mm-hmm

Verse 1:
Bm A
Tasted the blood in my mouth

And left you there to bleed out
Bm A
It didn't feel like a dream -Mm-
Bm A
Woke up and you looked so cute
                           Bm
Don't think I could love you more
                       A
So what the hell does it all mean?

Pre-Chorus:
Bm A
I'm takin' everything I see as a sign and
Bm A
I know it's crazy but what if it's right?

Chorus:
G D A
I'm here again, talkin' myself out of
                E
My own happiness

I'll make it up 'til I quit
G D A
I wonder if we should just sit here in silence
                       E
'Cause ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh
                       G
I think I talk too much
                 D A
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, I think I talk too much
                  E
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, I think I talk too much

Verse 2:
Bm A
If I see a blue car today

We'll probably have to break up
Bm A
So I close my eyes while I drive -Mm-
Bm A
And if it rains, then it rains

And we'll be over by May
Bm A
That's just the deal that I made -In my head-

Pre-Chorus:
Bm A
I'm takin' everything I see as a sign and
Bm A
I know it's crazy but what if it's right?

Chorus:
G D A
I'm here again, talkin' myself out of
                E
My own happiness

I'll make it up 'til I quit
G D A
I wonder if we should just sit here in silence
                         E
'Cause ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, I think I talk too much
G D
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, I think I talk too much
A E
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, I think I talk too much
G D
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, I think I talk too much
A E
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, I think I talk too much

Bridge:

Okay, having said all that

Do you still wanna be with me? -Do you still wanna be with me?-
Bm A
'Cause like I, I wanna be with you

Like, like maybe even forever -Forever-
Bm A
Holy xxxx, okay, maybe not forever -Forever-
                                  Bm
I mean like I'm, I'm not sayin' not, forever
                     A
I, I actually have no idea what I'm sayin' -I have no idea-
                 Bm
Are you mad at me?
                            A
'Cause it's cool if you are, right, like I don't care -I don't care-
                                           Bm
But like, if, if you are then I'm gonna resent you -Resent you-
                   A
I, I'll forgive you
                                                    Bm
But I was just wonderin' like, okay, like is this a sign? -I'm takin' everything I see as a sign-
      A
Do I actually hate you?
Bm A
I just wanted to be honest, right -I know it's crazy but what if it's right?-

Like, do you still love me?

Chorus:
G D A
I'm here again, talkin' myself out of
                E
My own happiness

I'll make it up 'til I quit
G D A
I wonder if we should just sit here in silence
                       E
'Cause ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh -Ah, just shut the xxxx up-
G D
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, I think I talk too much
A E
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, I think I talk too much
G D
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, I think I talk too much
A E
Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, I think I talk too much

I hear it as a Cdim7. I’ve got the Es at 4447 and Cdim7 at 5656. Also, I like the sound of a Dbm6, so the verse goes:

2220 4222 2120 2322
4447 5656 4447 3444

Aino

Yeah, i think the C should be Cdim! That sounds good to my ear, at least 🙂

ewan2smith

The “C” on this line just doesn’t sound correct when I play it.

E C
The world could show nothing to me,

Is it just me?

BrianC

I agree, Ewan, it sounds dreadful to me.

monkeyc

i tried to find an alternative chord for the unappealing ‘C’, although I am playing this on piano and i’ve moved it to +3 (so it is my range for singing) and I think a a/cm chord works perfectly on piano, I’m just not sure how to adapt this chord for the ukulele..

for the original key, try am with a c base 😀 hope this helps!!

Maria

When I heard the C, it also didn’t sound right to me. Instead I played Am. Sounds much better. Hope this helps.

Maria

When I heard the C problem, it also didn’t sound right to me. Instead I played Am. Sounds much better. Hope this helps.
