Intro: C Cmaj7 Am Dm G G7

C Cmaj7
Hold me close and hold me fast
The magic spells you cast
                  Dm G
This is La Vie en ros-e

When you kiss me heaven sighs
And though I close my eyes
                Gsus4 G7
I see La Vie en ros-e

C Cmaj7
When you press me to your heart
I'm in a world apart
a world where roses bloom

Dm C
And when you speak angels sing from above
Dm G
Everyday words seem to turn into love songs

C Cmaj7
Give your heart and soul to me
And life will always be
   Dm G C
La Vie en rose

  1. just use any strumming pattern bc its a slow song

  2. Mayaking

On turn into love song instead of D just bar the whole 2nd fret and strum down once really slow it has a really nice sound

  3. Panic!Of2018

If you are looking for the Edith Piaf key, go -6 for it. It is a difficult way to play, but the key is accurate to the original.

  4. lalizzziela

such a beautiful song, thanks for this!

  5. I play a C7 instead of a Dsus4

  6. Okay so instead of gmaj7 i barre the second fret, instead of am at the word everyday i use a7, and instead of em I use g6

  7. Does anyone know what key this is in I’m trying to play it on the cello to play with this. If you know please help.

  8. I find wing strum works really well with this melody :D ddu ddu

  9. On the word “turn” it sounds much better to us D6 instead of D

  10. Banshey527

    Strumming pattern?

  11. i transpose it to +5 and put my capo on the fifth fret for a soft and easier version.

  12. this is so beautiful i can’t

  13. Possibly Frank Iero's Doppelganger

I love this song so much asdfghjkl

  14. Someone_who_likes_music

    strumming pattern?

  15. Madikp71

also a great strum pattern for this song is d d u u d for each chord

  16. maleman159

Make sure you transpose off and back into 0 to get the easier, more pleasant chords.

Someone mentioned it above ^ .

  17. linderbug

if you hit +5 on the transpose bar, it gets it to the HIMYM key – which incidentally is the easiest key to play this in. C Cmaj7 Am Dm G G7 progression and so on…

  18. So I have found what I feel is a much easier way to play especially for beginners that goes G, Gmaj7, Em, C6 (no strings), D, D7. You can look it up on YouTube as “How I Met Your Mother La Vie En Rose.” I’m sure these chords are great but if you’re a newbie like me these are by far the easiest way to do it & it sounds great.

  19. Grell Sutcliff

This sounds really nice with a capo on the first fret (if you’re a soprano ;).

  20. All due respect it’s a lovely version, but not in the same key played in the episode of HIMYM. So no, it is not the HIMYM version. Still lovely though! I shall press on!
