A E Gbm
Some people think the perfect fantasy is the girl next door
                                D A
But my dream girl has got the keys to my heart and home
                           E
I never dreamed that in a million years
                 Gbm D
She'd settle for me.

A E
This room's to let, I only advertised this morning,
     Gbm
But here you are with three months
            D
rent and references that shine beyond
A
Belief.
                         E
Take me to my room, you said,
                       Gbm
No time to lose, you said,
                         D
And now you're making omelets and you ask me,
Gbm E
"Who's that girl on the fridge"
                            D
And I'm telling my life story,
                               E
But I guess she's too good for me.

A
She's not my girlfriend,
E Gbm
She's just a friend who's a girl,
                         D
She's my colleague, she's my best mate,
                A
She rocks my world,
                   E Gbm
I wanna tell her, but I just can't find the time,

Or find the words,
        D
Oh, for God's sake, kiss the girl.

Interlude: A E Gbm D

A E
A quiet night in, but we won't even know you're here,
    Gbm
No phones, no interruptions,
       D A
Maybe now's my chance to tell her how I feel.
                                  E
But now you're here and I can't think,
                             Gbm D
So why not stay and have a drink?

I don't mind if you don't mind.

Do you want to stay?

I don't mind.

Great.

Gbm E
And now she's going to live with monkeys,
                        D
See the world and disappear,
                         E
Am I what's keeping her here?

A
She's not my girlfriend,
E
She's just a friend who's a girl,
Gbm
She's my colleague, she's my best mate,
D
She rocks my world,
A E Gbm
I wanna tell her, but I just can't find the time,

Or find the words,
         D
Oh, for God's sake, kiss the girl.

A E Gbm
I can't take this anymore.
   D A
I want you to go, cause you're talking to a cat,
       E Gbm
 D
And everybody loves you, and you're better than me at football and my job,
                       A E
And now Sophie's all "Monkeys, monkeys, monkeys"
                 Gbm D
You're going to take her away from me.

A E
Alright, I didn't want to do this,
                          Gbm
But it might be the only way
                                   D A
The world will end if you don't concentrate on why you want to stay.
              E Gbm D
So, Mr. Sofa Man, what's keeping you here?
A
Sophie!
I don't wanna leave,
E
Sophie!
I can't leave,
Gbm
Sophie! D
I love you, Sophie.
A E
But what about the monkeys?
                              Gbm
Oh, not again, not when the world's about to burn,
           D
Just, for God's sake,
         A
Kiss the girl.

Biography

In August 2008, Alex Day searched the web for “Time Lord Rock” – a subsection of music he thought would exist to celebrate the TV show Doctor Who – but got no results. Shortening the term to ‘Trock’, he introduced the concept to his YouTube viewers, launching the music with a self-penned song called An Awful Lot Of Running (inspired by the words of Jenny at the end of the 2008 episode ‘The Doctor’s Daughter’).
