Intro -x2-: Em G C C

Verse 1:
 Em G C
47% of my brothers and sisters don't feel they belong
     Em G C
It's heaven or hell with mom and dad, just tryna stay strong
     Em G
Just hide, cower, but it's a cry for help
C
19% don't wanna live out loud
      Em G
So we hear 'bout them tryna tie a noose
     C Em G C C
Bam, just like that, my friends let loose

Chorus:

He says:
         Em G C
"I could cut off my circulation, end my bitterness
   Em G C
Or cut off my hair so I can breathe in hopefulness
           Em G C
I feel I'm stuck, wrong, trapped and they have the audacity to say
             Em G C C
"It's just a phase"

Interlude -x4-: Em G C

Verse 2:
Em G
She just wishes she felt loved
          C
She would be their daughter, not their son
   Em G C
He wishes he saw his body and felt alright
                      Em
Not like putting up a fight
                   G C
If we could do something or change a thing to make it all better
Em G C Em G C
Not as many kids would feel forgotten and write their final letters

Chorus:

She says:
         Em G C
"I could cut off my circulation, end my bitterness
   Em G C
Or grow off my hair so I can breathe in hopefulness
           Em G C
I feel I'm stuck, wrong, trapped and they have the audacity to say
             Em G C C
"It's just a phase"

Interlude -x4-: Em G C

Outro:
      Em G
If we changed our minds a little bit
    C
Our kids wouldn't feel stuck like this
Em G
Leelah, Taylor, Zander, Jude
C
How many more do we have to lose?
      Em G
These kids mean something
      C
Don't treat them as if they're nothing
Em G
Dear kids: please, try to stay strong
    C
The wait to being yourself, it ain't that long

Outro -x2-: Em G C

huh?

jan Isa

all of the scales except C are wrong
the a# scale has a few double sharps, which means to write it correctly would be:
A# B# C## D# E# F## G## A#

there’s a typo in the A scale: A B C# D **F** F# G# A
that F should be an E

Album: Phase
