Gb B
I've been thinking 'bout the way you'll think about me when we're old
Ebm Db
Always thought that we could be the greatest story ever told
Gb B
But there's a rock inside my sock I'll keep on walking 'cause it's cold
            Ebm
And I can't stop the clock from ticking
       Db
I know it's just the beginning

Chorus:
Gb
Don't forget
                 B
This story's not over yet
                   Ebm
Time passed like a cigarette
              Db
Turning into smoke between our fingers
            Gb
Tell me you won't forget
             B
Remember the night we met
               Ebm
Rewind like an old cassette
                 Db
And I'll be the song that's on your speakers playing for
Gb
You, you, you, playing for
B Ebm
you, you, you, playing for you
                Db
And I'll be the song that's on your speakers

Verse 2:
Gb B
I have to wonder why I wonder how I'll feel in thirty years
Ebm Db
G#out the time to spent together will the memories disappear
Gb B
It might sound crazy but my baby, that's the thing I most fear
           Ebm
Oh I can't stop the world from spinning
            Db
I know that it's just the beginning, so please

Chorus:
Gb
Don't forget
                 B
This story's not over yet
                   Ebm
Time passed like a cigarette
              Db
Turning into smoke between our fingers
            Gb
Tell me you won't forget
             B
Remember the night we met
               Ebm
Rewind like an old cassette

you, you, you, playing for you
                Db
And I'll be the song that's on your speakers

Don't worry babe, that would be okay
     Ebm B
I'll give you all the memories I've saved
     Gb
Just leave me with a picture

Just a picture of your face

Gb
Don't forget
                 B
This story's not over yet

Biography

After getting dropped by Columbia Records at 18 years old, singer-songwriter Alec Benjamin built a following by playing in parking lots outside of Shawn Mendes and Troye Sivan concerts. The Phoenix, Arizona native caught the attention of Jon Bellion, earning a songwriting credit on Bellion’s debut album and later joined him on tour.

To build on the momentum, Benjamin began uploading new songs to his YouTube channel at a rapid clip and eventually earned a viral hit with “I Built a Friend” and a deal with Atlantic Records.
