Intro: G G7 C Cm

Verse 1:
G G7
I think you want an answer
                    C
I'm not prepared to give
           Cm G G7
'Cause the one I gave, you said that that ain't it
                         C
Must be something that I want
         Cm G G7
Fame and fortune or at least a little jaunt
                        C
It may seem too cut and dried
       Cm Am
I just found some things I could not brush aside
              D
Now if you'll oblige

Chorus:
                   G Bm
I don't think it's true
        C
I'm not asking you to agree
         Cm G Bm
I'm just asking you to believe me
C
You say my heart is never true
Cm G
That might say more about you

Interlude: G

Verse 2:
G G7
I know it shouldn't matter
               C
If you take my word
       Cm G G7
When I say I didn't leave 'cause I was hurt
                  C
But there goes my pride
             Cm G G7
With it's Refrain that I be seen as justified
                       C
Likely nothing I could say
            Cm Am
And I'm not sure you would care for me to explain
             D
Sure you can pray

Chorus:
                       G Bm
But I don't think it's true
        C
I'm not asking you to agree
         Cm G Bm
I'm just asking you to believe me
C
You say my heart is never true
Cm
That might say more about you
