Verse:
D G Bm
I was a little girl alone in my little world who dreamed of a little
         G
home for me
D G
I played pretend between the trees, and fed my house guests bark and leaves
    Bm G
and laughed in my pretty bed of green
                D
Chorus: I had a dream
         Gbm G D G
That I could fly from the highest swing, I had a dream

Chorus -x2-:
D G Bm
Long walks in the dark through woods grown behind the park, I ask God
                    G
who I'm supposed to be
    D G Bm
The stars smiled down on me, God answered in silent reverie. I said a prayer
         G
and fell asleep

Interlude -x3-:
    D A Bm G
    Oooo

Verse:
D G Bm
Now I'm old and feeling grey. I don't know what's left to say about this life
               G D G
I'm willing to leave. I lived it full and I lived it well. There's many

tales I've lived to tell.
   Bm G Bm
I'm ready now, I'm ready now, I'm ready now.

To fly from the highest wing

I had a dream
