Intro -x2-: Abm Gb B

Verse 1:
Abm B Abm
You spoke a word, life began
                          B Abm
Told oceans where to start and where to end
                        B
You set in motion time and space
                Abm B
But still you come and you're calling me by name
           Abm Gb B
Still you come and you're calling me by name

Chorus:
                      E B
If you can hold the stars in place
               Gb
You can hold my heart the same
            E B
Whenever I fall away
            Gb
Whenever I start to break
    E Abm Gb
So here I am, lifting up my heart
                          Abm
To the one who holds the stars

Interlude: Gb B

Verse 2:
Abm B Abm
The deepest depths, the darkest nights
                                B Abm
Can't separate, can't keep me from your side
                      B
I get so lost, forget my way
               Abm Gb B
But still you love and you don't forget my name

Chorus:
                      E B
If you can hold the stars in place
               Gb
You can hold my heart the same
            E B
Whenever I fall away
            Gb
Whenever I start to break
    E Abm Gb
So here I am, lifting up my heart
                      E B
If you can calm the raging sea
                   Gb
You can calm the storm in me
                  E B
You're never too far away
                Gb
You never show up too late
    E Abm Gb
So here I am, lifting up my heart
                          Abm
To the one who holds the stars

                   B
What do I have to fear?
       Abm Gb B
Your love has called my name

What do I have to fear?

So here I am, lifting up my heart
                      E B
If you can calm the raging sea
                   Gb
You can calm the storm in me
                  E B
You're never too far away
                Gb
You never show up too late
    E Abm Gb
So here I am, lifting up my heart
                          B Gb
To the one who holds the stars

Biography

Skillet is an American rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee, consisting of all Christian members.

Skillet formed in 1996 with two members: John Cooper, former vocalist for Tennessee progressive rock band Seraph, and Ken Steorts, former guitarist for Urgent Cry. The two bands met through touring together, but those bands disbanded soon after, so John and Ken’s pastor encouraged them to form their own band as a side-project. Coming from different styles of rock music, they decided to name the experiment Skillet.
