Intro: Db Eb7 Ab

Verse 1:
    Db Eb7
You always break a heart when you break a promise
  Ab Fm
I guess I didn't practice what I preach
  Db Eb7
I know not telling you was so dishonest
    Ab Fm
But honestly, the dishonesty was killing me

Chorus:
Db Eb7
You asked a question and I lied
                         Ab
I think about it all the time
                         Fm
I was wrong to think I'm right
                         Db
Playing God with you and I
                           Eb7
But the truth always comes out
                        Ab
In the silence, it rings loud
                              Fm
Where there's smoke there's a fire
                    Db
Now I know what you see
                 Eb7
When you look at me
              Ab
I will always be a liar

Verse 2:
      Db Eb7
And I know I wasn't doing all the right things
        Ab Fm
Thought what you didn't know could never hurt -So sorry 'bout it-
    Db Eb7
But when the words slipped out, it struck like lightning
      Ab Fm
Yeah, keeping it from you just made it worse
            Db
I don't know what to do -To do-
                  Eb7
'Cause there's no over you -Ooh-
      Ab Fm
And I can't hear your name without feeling ashamed
          Db
Afraid of losing you -Afraid of losing you-
         Eb7
And so I bent the truth -And so I bent the truth-
        Ab Fm
And it only happened once, but once was way too much, yeah

Chorus:
Db Eb7
You asked a question and I lied
                            Ab
I think about it all the time
                           Fm
I was wrong to think I'm right
                         Db
Playing God with you and I
                           Eb7
But the truth always comes out
                         Ab
In the silence, it rings loud
                              Fm
Where there's smoke there's a fire
                    Db
Now I know what you see -Ah-
                 Eb7
When you look at me
                   Ab Fm
I will always be a liar

Outro:
                     Db
Yeah, I know what you see
                 Eb7
When you look at me
                   Ab Fm
I will always be a liar
                      Db
Yeah, I know what you see
                 Eb7
When you look at me
                   Ab
I will always be a liar
