I prefer the song without any picking with the island strum so instead the D DU UDU you leave the first D and pick the g

I feel like it sounds a lot better without it, but it’s my opinion

(ps. I want to buy a bew ukulele, because i am using my sisters, does anyone know any good ukulele brands??)

  2. jayvierrrr

Oh, the G chord is your 1st finger (pointer) on the 2nd fret of the C string (2nd string), 2nd finger (middle) on the 2nd fret of the A string (4th string), and 3rd finger (ring) on the 3rd fret of the E string (3rd string).
The chords are listed with their fingerings above the song. :)

  3. Martyn snell

Your Bridge chords are wrong listen to the original !

    Should be

    C g dm g
    C b7 em dm g7

  4. Words are mixed up, I don’t care if it’s a remix or whatever. Also the line ‘high above the chimney tops the chords are WAY wrong. Can whoever originally put this up PLEASE fix this. I’m only new to ukulele but I’ve been playing other instruments for 25 years and have a pretty good ear. Couldn’t tell you what the chords are supposed to be because I’ve only been looking at this for 5 minutes but yeah. They’re wrong.

  5. PurpleMaestro003

I’m kinda new to the ukelele , what is the g chord?

    • A|second finger/middle finger on fret 2
E|third finger/index or ring finger on fret 3
      C|first finger/pointer finger on fret 2
      G|No fingers-open

    • JayneErso

It should show you on the top of the page, but it is when you have your middle finger on the 2nd fret (space in between small metal bars) of the A string (4th string), your ring finger on the 3rd fret of the E string (3rd string), and your index/pointer finger on the 2nd fret of the C string (2nd string). Hope that helps (:

    • theeighteenthpilot

      Hi :)
So, its the middle finger on A2 (last string, second fret),
ring finger on E3 (third string down, third fret),
and on C2 (Second string down, second fret). They should form a little triangle, the chords are usually on the top of the page too, so if you get lost, look there.
      Hope this helps, have fun!

    • The G chord is: Pointer finger on the 3rd string on the second fret, middle finger on the 1st string on the second fret, and ring finger on the 2nd string on the 3rd fret. Hope this helps! :)

    • Emily Phillips

from top string to bottom: 0232

    • 3rd finger on first string 2nd fret
2ns finger on second string 3rd fret
first finger on 3rd string 2nd fret

    • you would put your ring finger on string A and second fret

then you would put your index finger on string C and second fret

lastly you would put your ring finger on string E and the third fret

      that’s the best I can explain it…

    • Nati28ukulele101

      A g chord is:
Place finger number 1 in 3 string 2 house
Finger number 2 in 1 string house 2
And last, finger number 3 in the 2nd string 3 house .
      Das it

    • the G chord is up there with all the chords. the vertical lines represent the strings and the horizontal lines represent the frets. the dots represent were your fingers go. hope that helps:)

  14. The words are mixed up.
Somewhere over the rainbow way up high
there’s a land that i have heard of once in a lullaby
somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue
and the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true

  15. so does anyone else feel like there should be another chord in the somewhere part? Like instead of c its c f or sometthing??

  16. Happy Face

I don’t actually think its this hard
there are only 5 main cords in it and I started playing just a few months ago and already can play this song. I thing it should be 2/5 instead of 4/5

    • It means that its hard to perform, sing and/or play. I, too, learned the song fairly quickly but it took me a while to get the words synchronized with the chords and then perform it. Although it is a fairly easy song.

    • I could play this song a week after getting my ukulele for the first time, but I’ve been playing a year and 2 months now and this is the only song I’ve had this much difficulty memorizing (as in I still have to read the tabs or else I forget the next line or chord). I think that’s why it’s a 4? The patterns get mixed up and such throughout the song. Easy to read, hard to remember haha

    • KK_bcd_haha

That’s the same for me. I just started and this song was way easier than it was put out to be

      • Doesn’t it depend of which version of the song you are using? I’m completely new to playing and I also found it quite easy, but on some of the other versions here (than the one I’m using), the chords are more difficult. They only have one difficulty rating though for all of the versions.

For strumming I pluck the g string and the DU UDU. So its just the average DDU UDU pattern but with the g string on the first down. I’ve seen a few people do it with the c string but in my opinion the g sounds much nicer.

  18. Why do these sites call these chord charts Tabs?

  19. this song is poo

  20. Quinn Buchinger

    I do DDUUDU
