Intro -x2-: G Em

Verse 1:
G Em G
I, didn't know, 'goodbye' meant 'hello'
       Em
You'd be right there, you'd be right there
G Em G
And I, didn't know, when you'd up and go
       Em Em
You'd be right back, you'd be right back

Pre-Chorus:
C Em G
Your mind was the tide, pulling me under
         C Em G
There's chlorine in my eyes, couldn't see under the water
C Em G
Though I have cried, pools of watercolor
C Em G
These tears have dried, but I still remember your face

Chorus:
               C Em G
When there was waves and waves and waves of you
          C Em G
There was waves and waves and waves and waves of you
              C Em G
And there was waves and waves and waves and waves of you
              C Em G
And there was waves and waves and waves and waves and waves of you

Verse 2:
G Em G
I didn't know, couldn't let it go
Em G
You'd be right there, you'd be right there
G Em G
I didn't know, when you're feeling low
Em G
You'd be right back, You'd be right back

Pre-Chorus:
C Em G
