He was born Kevin Michael McKeehan on October 22, 1964, in Fairfax, Virginia.. He first rose to prominence as a member of the influential Christian trio dc Talk (with Michael Tait and Kevin Max), and later established a long-running, successful solo career. dc Talk formed in the late 1980s and through the 1990s became one of the most popular acts in contemporary Christian music.
