I've been down with a broken heart since the day I learned to speak
    Bm E Bm D6
The devil gave me a crooked start when he gave me crooked feet

But Gabriel he came to me and kissed me in my sleep

Verse:
  Bm E Bm D6

  Bm E Bm D6
I set my mind a-wanderin' and walk a crooked line
        Bm E Bm D6

  Bm E Bm D6
I came upon a lightning strike and eyes of bright clear blue
  Bm E Bm D6
I took his tie from around my neck and gave my heart to you
  Bm E Bm D6
I sent my love across the sea and though I didn't cry
     Bm Gb Bm
