What notes are in the Eaug chord?

The Eaug chord is built from three notes: E, Ab and C (the root, major 3rd and augmented 5th). On the ukulele the C is doubled, so you get a nice full sound. That raised fifth gives an augmented chord an eerie, unsettled shimmer, like the music is about to lift somewhere unexpected.

Once Eaug feels comfortable, its close relatives are worth exploring: try E7, Emaj7, Em and E. Augmented chords are color chords, dropped in for a moment of tension before the music moves on. When that feels good, work on switching between chords faster. When you are ready, try some easy ukulele songs.
