i say replace E with E7, it sounds pretty similar and is way easier on your fingers 🙂
i find this works: A------0-0-2-0-------- E-0-0-0--------3-0---- C---------------------2-2-2-
i would say the standard (DDUUDU), just pay attention to the rhythm. if you listen to the original song you might be able to pick up a more accurate strum, but i haven't been able to yet lol
