I wish people would quit crediting this with the Mamas and the Papas, It was first recorded by Ozzie Nelson of all people and later by Ella Fitzgerald and Doris Day, nearly identical to the M&P version!

The 3rd chord is not Ab – it’s Ab7.
OK, technically Ab is not wrong – after all, Ab7 is an Ab chord with a 7th added to it, but that’s the problem you see, because you are adding the 7th (Gb) with your voice and it’s only a tone away from the root note (Ab) making for a bit of a dissonant clash, but stick that 7th in the actual uke chord to sing along to and all is sweetness.
for anyone struggling with E: a way i play it is by setting up E7, but instead of holding down the c string, just mute it
If Ab is too difficult u can use Cm and it sounds just as good

You’ll figure it out from there. 🙂 Basically, if you play all Ab, G and C that way, you need much less movement. I also play E7 instead of E, btw.
I use the G shape moved up a fret and mute the the g string. Super easy, then, to slide to the G that immediately follows.
That’s true of any song.
If you’re worried about the B7/can’t play barre chords, E7 (1202) is a perfect alternative!
+5 and +3 are kinda easier

What’s the strum pattern?
The third chord is definitely Ab7. I play it without the top string. So I have to move only one fret to G7 which sounds better than plain G in my opinion.

anyone know an alternative for fm, atm I’m just playing f but it doesn’t really sound right
For b7 you can just bar the second fret and put your second finger on where it’s meant to be
this sounds amazing, you just need to play it really slow until you get the hang of it, its totally worth it!
