Being house bound I have had extra time to adjust to my own liking and put a little more upbeat rhythm in there by adding one chord that’s already used throughout the song! In the intro as well as instrumental break near the end ,I liked the sound of the arrangement as / G / Bm/ C / D7. I also added an extra chord to the end of the 1st line of each verse to coincide with the syllables and chord transition to following verse :
way up high/skies are blue/bluebirds fly- / C / D7 / Bm / G7 /
+3 is the RSC version’s original key for any musical theater kids
I’ve been really wanting to play this song since I first got a ukulele and now I can thank you
I think +5 sounds a little better and is more upbeat. I know it’s not the way it’s supposed to be I just like the way it sounds and that’s how I play it. Give it a shot If you’ve got the chance!
Here is the strum pattern that I at least try to use: DDU UD or DDU UDU
I love this song so much. I watched the Night of A Thousand Judy’s stream yesterday and I had already known a little bit about Judy, but now I’m just completely in love with her music. I’m definitely going to be listening to more of her stuff!
2 many chords
2 many notes.
It would be better with a play along.
