Am C
hello my old heart

how have you been
Am C F F
are you still there inside my chest?
Am C
I've been so worried
F F
you've been so still
Am C F F
barely beating at all
G Am C F
oh, don't leave me here alone
C F
don't tell me that we've grown
G Am
for having loved a little while
G Am C F
oh, I don't want to be alone
C F
I want to find a home
G Dm
and I want to share it with you
[Am C F chord progression]
hello my old heart
it's been so long
since I've given you away
and every day I add another stone
to the walls I built around you
to keep you safe
G Am C F
oh, don't leave me here alone
C F
don't tell me that we've grown
G Am
for having loved a little while
G Am C F
oh, I don't want to be alone
C F
I want to find a home
G Dm
and I want to share it with you
[Am C F chord progression]
hello my old heart
how have you been?
how is it, being locked away?
well don't you worry
in there, you're safe
and it's true, you'll never beat
but you'll never break
Dm C
nothing lasts forever
Dm C
some things aren't meant to be
Dm Am
but you'll never find the answer
Am G
until you set your old heart free
F F
until you set your old heart free
Outro: C F C F Am F C

0h2- pick open string, and put finger on fret 2 while it’s still playing.
Hopefully this helps someone!
i like to finger pick instead of strum. I play the two middle strings once and then the outer strings twice per chord. hope that helps!
Can someone please explain how to read the riff section to me? I don’t understand the numbers
what’s the strumming pattern??
the dm is a bit awkward at the end of the second refrain and i think it fits better at the end of the third verse. if you want to replace it anywhere (except that last bridge) then you can instead play an f chord 🙂
