I’m learning this for my Grandma who is sadly dying. Her name is Jean and in 1966 she was 36. She had recently moved to Australia with my ‘daydream believer’ grandad, trying to make a better life for themselves. It was really tough, and she had to get a job in an abattoir despite loving animals, (she rescued so many street dogs in Australia that they became their own pack.) My grandad was a joker and I can imagine him singing this song to her before going work in the morning. There’s no homecoming in England, but my Grandma was very glamorous. I have lovely photos of her larking around with friends when she was in her late teens. I like to imagine her at the beginning, full of potential. Life is short and we need to make the most of it.
plus 5 is super easy and sound much more like the original
this song makes me happy
when i hover over an F in the song (after transposing in up 5 half-steps), it displays the fingering for an F#9 chord. i know i can find the fingering up top, but thought you might want to be awaqre of that:)
