Think the bridge is missing …. “Tell me,…….etc…..”
It was first recorded by Gwen McCrae as “You Are Always on My Mind”, and Brenda lee in 1972. the song was passed along to Elvis through one of his bodyguards. Elvis recorded the song March 29, 1972, a few weeks after his February separation from wife and the song became a standard in his set list till his death in 1977. John Wesley Ryle’s recorded the song in 1979 as “You Are Always on My Mind”. Willie Nelson recorded the song and released in the spring of 1982 and won three Grammy’s and four CMA’s and Nelson’s version was inducted into the Grammy HOF in 2008. I prefer the Elvis version.
Bridge is
C-G-Am-C-F-C-Dm x2
G-C.
For -2 transposition
Ssssoooo DIFFUCULT OK PEOPLE WHO I DONT KNOW???????????
I agree, Fiona… Also, isn’t this by Willie Nelson?
For what it’s worth, Elvis’s version here, https://youtu.be/u9sRJ-eOHnc, is transposed +5 relative to this version. (But the verses/choruses don’t quite match up either.)
-2 is easy and sounds great!!!! This sounds beautiful on the ukulele!!
Can there be a video posted to see/hear what it’s supposed to sound like?
I really like this song ukufied sounds great, thanks
I agree, Fiona…
