If you play Bb, 8-5-3 on the A string, Am with island pattern (DD-UU-DU) two times, and every other progression after the first Am DD-UU-DU play 5-6-5-3-5 on the E string, you have the entire song. That’s what’s played throughout the song over and over.

I’ve found that plucking the G string 2-3-0-2 works nicely, and sounds better than the 5-6-5-3-5 option.
This is a bit higher than the actual song but here’s what I like to do:
1. Strum Cm once
2. On the A string: 10–7-5
3. Strum G with the pattern D-D-U-U-DU x2
4. then repeat the first two steps only this time you pluck on the A string: 2-3-0-2
AFTER strumming the G pattern ONCE!
-BUT if you want to stay close to the song as possible I would do:
1. Strum Am once
2. On the G string: 10–7-5
3. Stum F with the pattern D-D-U-U-DU x2
4. then repeat the first two steps only this time you pluck on the G string: 2-3-0-2

After each Bb chord, I usually pluck a short little piece that’s goes along with the song, and I think it sounds really nice 🙂 I’ll leave the notes below:

there’s another way to do the second riff, it sounds more official.
you start on the A string and go 1-0-1
you move to the E string and go 3
you move to the G string and go 2
you finish by plucking the A string

If you wanna know the riff after the Bb in the song is all on the A chord at the 8th fret,5th,3rd. The next riff is after you strum on the Am and you pluck on the E chord at the 5th fret,6th,5th,3rd,5th (relatively fast).
So for the little riff after every bm, on A string play

So, personally, I’m a little bit of a beginner. And the Bb chord is pretty hard for me. So instead of doing Bb I switched it to A7 which is just a little bit easier for me. So uh yeah.
Personally for the ride I like to do 2-3-0-2 On A string, but I have metal cords so it might just be me
I’m very new to uke, and what I like to do for plucking is start at A with 8-5-3 than move to E with 5-3 I still need to find a pattern for after that though.
for the plucking part, after the Bb chord, i did (on the forth string) 8th fret, 5th fret then 3rd.
after the Am chord, i did (on the first string) 2nd fret, 3rd fret, no fret (just the reg g chord)
Does anyone have the finger picking figured out?
I love how it counted the A in “A quiet street” as a chord.
