you can try +3 and -2 for an easier tune but personally i think -2 sounds more like the original

I just do DDU – UDU for the whole song, except the first two lines of each verse
You can use -2 for an easier tune and then add a capo on the second fret to make it sound more like the original. But I add a capo on the first fret just because it sounds nicer I think
