I find that the best way to play this is by doing a sort of finger picking pattern.
Hold the chord and pick the 2nd string, then the other 3 after
For the beginning play D with the finger picking 4 times, the G twice, and then the Bm chord twice, repeat.
I think DDU UDU is a good strumming pattern. although it is a good pattern for almost every song out there ? but it really does work well with this song.
Ok I think I have a finger picking pattern. 4 is is strong furthest from you. Not completely sure though.

Thank you so much for putting “26” on here! It is by far my favorite off of After Laughter (even though Hard Times, Tell Me Why, Pool, and Rose-Colored Boy are pretty great) and I’ve been looking for a version of this!
i play it by plucking the 2nd and the 4th string at the same time and then plucking the 3rd string.
4 times for the D chord and 2 times for both G and Bm.
then for A G and Em in the chorus i do the same thing but 4 times for each.
and then in the chorus i do 4 times for G and 2 times for D and A. i think it sounds nice, not really like the original, but the closest i could get by far.
Try with D DUDUDU or DD UDU or DDU UDU, i think that it sound good with any of them
strumming pattern plsssssss
+5 looks easier
i have been waiting for this for SO long, thank you!!!
