this is the first song that has made me cry that doesn’t have some sort of story that is building it up (e.g. musical theatre, because I’m still dying over the ending of falsettos) and is really just… pure, authentic feelings being poured out? i really feel like i’m falling out with many of my friends, so this a real hard hitter for me. melodically not my favorite of conan’s, that would go to either the cut that always bleeds or the king, but this is the song of his that i can deeply connect with and am so emotionally distraught over.
