But you can get pretty close to the actual intro if you pick each chord as:

The current intro is written aspicking each chord as:
1-2-3-4-3-2-
Calling each string: 1-2-3-4
I know that’s not the same as tabs but hopefully it makes sense.
I found E7 works better instead of E
Em sounds pretty okay
I use Em instead of E or E7, it’s easier to switch to and sounds OK to me! ^_^
i really dig this site and love the idea of playing house of the rising sun on the ukulele. blogs like this have made growth as a musician possible. nice post keep up the hard work.
I find that playing the intro like 1-2-3-4-4-3-2 or G-C-E-A-A-E-C sounds really good for the intro.

I NEED HELP: you read left to right, It didn’t make sense to me at first, also the numbers signify the fret you put your finger on (for instance 3, you out your finger on the third fret, easy, right?) and then the letters on the sides, signify the strings, If you want practice on reading the finger picking tabs, go to: SEVEN NATION ARMY – by white stripes…(its a fairly easy song to fingerpick)

If you’re going for the sound of the cover of this song by 5FDP Em works perfectly instead.
E7 instead of E, and at the end, when fading out, Dm sounds WAYYYYY better then D, when FADING OUT AT THE END ONLY THOUGH.
