For strumming pattern I use DDUUDU, but if you want it to be slower and a more gentle vibe use DDUUD
This song sounds so beautiful on the uke! Thank you xx
does anyone know the strumming pattern?
If this helps anyone, I transpose it to +3 so it’s not so low, and easier to sing for my voice, but still sounds like the song! That would make the chords C F and Am which is even a little easier on the fingers for a beginner player
When you’re playing it on guitar the chords are em-c-g all throughout the song
So, years back when I first wanted to learn this song, I found chords that almost perfectly matched the transposed three half steps up version– the Am F C progression. The only difference was that G was used in the chorus to break it up a little bit, which I find sounds better (particularly/at least if it’s just vocals + uke) and may even more closely resemble the Not Animal! album version(? but maybe not and I’m just saying that to seem more intelligent).
In any case, the chorus looked like this:
Am
And I’m wasted
F
You can taste it
C G Am
Don’t look at me that way
F Am
’cause I’ll be hanging from a rope
C G Am
I will haunt you like a ghost.
Only thing is, I think the non-transposed progression complements my voice, so I’m not sure how to transpose the G back to the Gbm D A progression, if that makes sense. E doesn’t sound too bad to my ear (but I don’t know how reliable that is and I also need new strings).
Also, they may have just added G throughout the song in places, I don’t really remember.
