I use DDU UDU and i pluck on verses this is the best way for me but u can try playing with all the suggestions that are in the comments 🙂 to find ur best way
for the beginning bit I tap the ukulele and pluck all the strings at the same time so the plucking is off beat and the tapping is what keeps the beat if that makes sense
I use -2, strumming pattern dduudu

I pluck the chords for the verses, and then strum once and chuck for the prechorus, and then just dduudu for the chorus. I transpose to -2.
Hey, for verse I play single strumms but kinda like a pinch (?) With my thumb going down (first hitting G string, then C and E) but at the same time with my pointer finger going up (hitting A string). Then for verse it’s simple DD UU DU for every note 2x. It sounds pretty much the same as the original to me. Hope it helps.
