Follow the samba feel with a syncopated island strum and light touch.

Am i the only one that thinks gbm7 fm7 doesn’t sound right? It might be just ne
Transposing this down -2 makes it much easier. Beautiful jazz chords! The Ebm7 sounds odd…I just went from the Em7 and slid back one fret to make a C#dim7 which is very easy and fits really well
if you play the progression as
D – Dmaj7 – Em – Gm6 – F#maj7 – B7 – Em – A7
G – Em – G – Em – A7
and pluck the c string then a and e string in a jazzy/samba rhythm it sounds really really nice.
