Honestly I don’t change the tuning to hit the notes at the end – I just sing it higher. In the episode the original version ends on a pretty high note. I def recommend listening to the spotify version – it’s easier to hear how to sing it when you’re not distracted by the show.
I have a few different strumming patterns I’ve tried with this but so far the one I like best is
D- D D DU
I can’t help it if I make a scene,
D- D D DU
Stepping out of my hot pink limousine.
D- D D DU
I’m turning heads and I’m stopping traffic,
D DUDU D DUDU
When I pose, they scream and when I joke, they laugh.
repeat for verse 2
“Everybody needs a friend” verse I strum down in a steady 4 beat rhythm all the way through and then for “haven’t you noticed” I do a single down strum on each chord.
But each variation does work for all the verses. You don’t have to get fancy with it, I just like the variation.
This song is so simple and fun to play! I never get bored.
man i love the am7
So much fun! I love it. What should the strumming be?
-5 is slightly better for female voice if you find the ending too low to sing! May need to tune your uke down 1 tone to sing it at the higher end.
