I think a Cm7 sounds better than just a simple C, and it’s just as easy to play. Adds a bit of flavor.

Sooo I think that the lyrics are incorrect for this song unless I am just doing the wrong version. I know that there is an acoustic and that is the one that I am trying to play just I looked up the lyrics for th song on google and different words came up! If anyone could clarify please let me know! thanks!

Maroon 5 is an American pop rock band that originated in Los Angeles, California, United States. The group was formed in 1994 as Kara's Flowers while its members were still in high school and originally consisted of Adam Levine (lead vocals, guitar), Jesse Carmichael (guitar, backing vocals) Mickey Madden (bass guitar) and Ryan Dusick (drums).
