  1. okay so i’ve got the verses down but i can’t figure out a good strum pattern for the chorus. is there a trick to it? or am i just crazy?

    • Somtochukwu Unigwe

The strumming pattern is Down DOWN Up Down Up DOWN Up
      Emphasis on the capitalised downs.

    • Ukulele lul

Hey! The strumming pattern that I use for this song is DUD. It works really well for this song! Hope this helps! :D

    • Okay so the chorus really pisses me off too but the trick is like this:

      “Hey soul sister ——-(d-du-udu)x2
      ain’t that mister ——-(d-du-udu)x1
      mister ———————(ddu)x1
      on the ———————(d-du)x1
      radio stereo the ——(d-du-udu)x2
      way you move ain’t -(d-du-udu)x1
      fair you ——————-(d-du)x1
      know” ———————(d-du)x1

So basically it is (d-du-udu) twice on the first chord (A) then the next chord (B) its the same thing but once (d-du-udu) then the next chord (E) is a fast (d-du) then next (B) is also the same as the last (d-du) then its a loop back to (d-du-udu) twice again

I hope this helps you and other people but if you don’t get something just ask me!!

    • i use DDU UDU DDU UDU DDU UDU DDU UDU

  2. -4 was easiest for me

  3. MyPrettyWeeper

I am so confused who was talking about their dead wife and wtf does that have to do with this song

  4. Ok guys, an easier version is literally just C, G, Am, F and it literally sound exactly the same but easier

  5. I love ukealele

try -3 it is easy for me

  6. instead of Dbm try C#m

  7. Love this song, it really matches my voice

  8. Strumming pattern

  9. My hands are not big enough to play the E note :(

  10. oof shady sisters
    oooo shade like an umbrella
    WOAH
    drammaaaaaaa
thats sum good tea sis got anymore?

  11. IONLYREPLIEDTOGETTOTHETOP

+3 is easy and sounds WAY better.

Ooof another dramatic comment section. Gotta go!

  12. How can I hear this song while playing it?

  13. I think instead of the Dbm chord a C#m just fits better the original chord sounds weird to me

  14. Alyssa VanDyke

The Dbm chord is wrong. it should be barred across the first fret and then the fourth fret across the C, E, and A strings.

  15. Your regular DDU-UDU Island strum

  16. Lucy Gerard

-4 is by far the easiest it is just Am C G F

  17. DramaQueen

    Oof drama

  18. Mary Sandcreek

    Bren?

  19. jayvierrrr

    lmao

  20. jayvierrrr

bro, ok, its sad that ur wife died, but, omg, man up!
complaining about it in this context and being rude to other people who had NO CLUE that ur wife died? really?!
they are simply learning the song on their ukulele. figuring out transpositions to sound better or make it easier. and they are having fun as musicians! but you are making them feel like it’s their fault that your wife died! it’s not! i mean, come on!
