Intro - x2 -: Db F7 Gb Ab

           Db F7
Why do you build me up - build me up - Buttercup, baby
        Gb Ab
Just to let me down - let me down - and mess me around
         Db F7
And then worst of all - worst of all - you never call, baby
         Gb Ab
When you say you will - say you will - but I love you still

I need you - I need you - more than anyone, darlin'
    Gb Gbm
You know that I have from the start

"I'll be over at ten," you told me time and again
             Db Gb
But you're late, I wait around and then
  Db Ab B Gb
I went to the door, I can't take any more
         Db Gb
It's not you, you let me down again

  6. Yay I’m not the only one! I came here to play this because Tyler Joseph sings it in the background of the behind the scenes video for “House of Gold” and I fell in love with it!

  7. tylerrjoseph

  8. ijustmadeanaccount

Tyler Joseph blessed me with this song on the ukulele and I’m slowly ruining it by attempting to play and sing. oops.

  9. I love this song

  10. 21paphoonies

Tyler Joseph singing this with his ukulele is just.. ugh so beautiful….

  11. -5 is p easy n v nice!!!!

  12. -5 sounds much better!! And easier, to me at least

  13. brittabird6

Tyler Joseph singing this is literal perfection

  14. TraynorOnline

The Bb on the last line sounds much better as an Am, like this:

    F Am G C
    Don’t break my heart

  15. I reckon D7 instead of Dm- cheers!

  16. cottoncandygirl

    gosh i love this song

  17. wanderlust

    Nice chord.
I would just add an A7 after Em at “I’ll make you happy”
Also Dm should be D7 at “I’ll be beside the phone…”

There are a few weird chords in here but overall it’s great! But the Dm in the second half of the prechorus should be a D. And any Bb sounds really weird, so I just play F again in its place.

    • for the Dm in the second half of the prechorus i like to play a Am6, but thats all preference :) i like the funky sound it gives :)

  19. RAWR… It’s the same as hers. If it still sounds wrong when you play it, try tuning your guitar.

  20. this is weird . . Julia Nune’s version is better . .
