and carves out a person and makes you believe it's all true

Now I've got you
F
You're not what I asked for
       A7
If I'm honest I know I would give it all back
      Dm
for a chance to start over
                     Bb
Rewrite an ending or two

for the girl that I knew

         F
Who'd be reckless just enough
          C
Who'd get hurt but who learns how to tough it up
           Dm
When she's bruised and gets used
                   Bb
By a man who can't love

Then she'll get stuck
       F
And be scared of the life that's inside her
          A7
Growing stronger each day

Til it finally reminds her
     Dm
That fight just a little
                              Bb
To bring back the fire in her eyes
                                   F A7
That's been gone but it used to be mine
       Dm C
Used to mine

F
She is messy but she's kind
       C
She is lonely most of the time
       Dm
She is all of this mixed up
               C Bb
and baked in a beautiful pie
                               F
She is gone but she used to be mine

+1 is A LOT harder, trust me, but it sounds like the original track! It’s sounds sooo much better!

Agreed. I suggest just using the same chords without putting it on +1 and just putting a capo on the first fret :)

If you play this on the guitar in open d tuning it sounds lovely:

D – all strings open

A – 2nd fret:strings 3, 4, 5 & 6.
3rd fret: string 4
4th fret: string 5

Bm – 2nd fret: strings 2 & 5

G – 5th fret: strings 1, 2, 3 & 4

Gb7 – 4th fret: strings 3, 4, 5 & 6
7th fret: string 5

The original key is pretty good for people who have a little uke experience, and +1 sounds like the actual track but it’s much harder.

What does +1 +2 mean

i’m pretty sure it’s the key the song is transposed in!
changing it will make the chords harder/easier, and it makes it sound slightly different!

idk what this is but its transposing like i said i have no clue what it is either but it makes it easier or harder to play i think

It’s to transpose the key, either bring it up or down.

I definitely think +2 is the easiest and closest to the original broadway cast.

just put the capo on the 1st fret but use the chords without a fret it sound exactly like the original without havin to play hard chords

What do the letters along the bottom of the Chord Diagram represent?

I don’t think they’re important, they don’t really matter

Those are the names of the notes that you should be playing within the chord. i.e. for a C chord, you’re playing open G, C, E, and then a finger on fret 3 to play another C.

they represent the note being played by each string ?

It’s just to show what the actual note names are.
