I got a Lincoln motor and it's really souped up

That Model A body makes it look like a pup

With 4.11 gears you can really get lost

It's got safety tubes, and I'm not scared

Well, we left San Pedro late one night

The moon and stars was shinin' bright

Everything went fine up the Grapevine Hill

Was passing cars like they was standing still

Well then all of a sudden like the flick of an eye

a Cadillac sedan passed us by

a remark was made, "There's a car for me!"

By then the taillights was all you could see

I took my foot off the gas and man alive

My fenders was clickin' the guardrail post

They said slow down I see sparks

The lines on the road look just like dots

Then all of a sudden the rod started knockin'

Went down the dip and started rockin'

I looked in my mirror and a red light was blinkin'

The cops was after my Hot Rod Lincoln!

Well, they arrested me and they put me in jail

And I called my pop n' to go my bail

He said, "Son, you're gonna' drive me to drinkin'

If you don't stop drivin' that Hot Rod Lincoln!"
