Verse 1
Am F C
I don't like walking around this old and empty house
Am F C
So hold my hand, I'll walk with you my dear
Am F C
The stairs creak as I sleep, it's keeping me awake
Am F C
It's the house telling you to close your eyes
Am F C
Some days I can't even trust myself
Am F C
It's killing me to see you this way

Chorus
                   Am F
'Cause though the truth may vary
    C G
This ship will carry
      Am F C
Our bodies safe to shore

Verse 2
            Am F C
There's an old voice in my head that's holding me back
Am F C
Tell her that I miss our little talks
Am F C
Soon it will be over and buried with our past
Am F C
We used to play outside when we were young - and full of life and full of love -
Am F C
Some days I don't know if I am wrong or right
Am F C
Your mind is playing tricks on you my dear

Chorus
                   Am F
'Cause though the truth may vary
    C G
This ship will carry
      Am F C G
Our bodies safe to shore Hey!

The screams all sound the same. Hey!
                   Am F

  1. I really liked this song in -1

  2. They left out a part of the lyrics in the chorus, I would recommend looking up the lyrics, the chords still work for that part. Great song! This band is one of my favs to play on the ukulele

  3. Just use Am F C G in that order ?

  4. -1 is nice and easy

  5. For the Ab its easier to capo the first fret and play 3rd fret 1st string, 4th fret 2nd string, and 3rd fret 3rd string

  6. An Actual Octopus

    -1 If you’re lost. Click on -1.

  7. DoctorWho

OMG I love this song so much!!!!!!!! It’s so awesome!!!!

  8. I play with the cords Am, G, & C in that order Am 4tempo G2tempo and also C2tempo

  9. When I transposed it down a half step I also added a G after the C in the verses

  10. I just transpose it -1 and it sounded great (in my opinion, anyway). It’s also a lot easier to play because of the really simple chords.

  11. Just change the transpose to +1 it sounded alright to me

  12. I always put the capo on the first fret, it makes it a hell of a lot easier to play

  13. If you put a capo on the first fret and then play the Am or A, F, C, G it will sound better. You can click the -1 at the top and it will transpose it down to these chords for you.

  17. George Bunn

‘paigelynsey’, though you have a funny name, i agree that the easier chords that he suggested sound alright (if not better!!!). i struggle with the other chords because i am a beginner so thank you ‘paigelynsy’!!!!!

  18. paigelynsey

This song also works with the cords Am, F, C, G in place of Bdm, C#, F#, G#

  19. Emma Mesman

Just an A chord sounds alright, but I also tried an Am with C string, second fret held down. Hope this helps, Alex!

  20. When you transpose it down, the Am doesn’t sound right.. the rest of the chords sound fine though. Any ideas?
