Intro -x2-: Bm Gb G D Em7

Verse:
-eliza-
  Bm Gb
I saved every letter you wrote me
G D
From the moment I read them
  Em7 Bm
I knew you were mine
                   Gb
You said you were mine
                   G D Em7
I thought you were mine

Bm Gb
Do you know what Angelica said
         G D Em7
When we saw your first letter arrive?

She said

Bm Gb
“Be careful with that one, love
        G D
He will do what it takes to survive.”

Pre-Chorus:
Em7 Bm Gb
You and your words flooded my senses
      G D
Your sentences left me defenseless
Em7 Bm Gb
You built me palaces out of paragraphs
             G D Em7
You built cathedrals
         Bm Gb
I’m re-reading the letters you wrote me
      G D
I’m searching and scanning for answers
    Em7 Bm
In every line
                  Gb
For some kind of sign
                   G
And when you were mine

The world seemed to

Chorus:
D Bm Gbm Gbm Gb Gmaj7
Burn
D Bm Gbm Gbm Gb Gmaj7
Burn

Verse:
     Bm Gb
You published the letters she wrote you
    G D
You told the whole world how you brought
           Em7 Bm
This girl into our bed
                 Gb G D Em7
In clearing your name, you have ruined our lives

Bm Gb G
Do you know what Angelica said
                          D Em7
When she read what you’d done?
         Bm
She said
                       Gb
“You have married an Icarus
        G D
He has flown too close to the sun.”

Pre-Chorus:
Em7 Bm Gb
You and your words, obsessed with your legacy...
       G D
Your sentences border on senseless
Em7 Bm Gb
And you are paranoid in every paragraph
            G
How they perceive you

You, you, you…

     Bm Gb
I’m erasing myself from the narrative
     G D Em7
Let future historians wonder how Eliza
Bm Gb
Reacted when you broke her heart
G
You have torn it all apart

I am watching it

Chorus:
D Bm Gbm Gbm Gb Gmaj7
Burn
D Bm Gbm Gbm Gb Gmaj7
Watching it burn

Bridge:
                 A D
The world has no right to my heart
                  D
The world has no place in our bed
      Bm7 Gmaj7
They don’t get to know what I said
     A D
I’m burning the memories
             D Bm7
Burning the letters that might have redeemed you
      Gmaj7 A D
You forfeit all rights to my heart
                 D
You forfeit the place in our bed
        Bm7 Gmaj7
You'll sleep in your office instead
      A D
With only the memories
             D D D D G
Of when you were mine

                 Bm Gb G D Em7 Bm9
I hope that you burn

Guys, do you know what else is burning? ……………………………………. my fingers when I play uke

A master

it might help if you first learn https://ukutabs.com/b/bob-marley/redemption-song/ and https://ukutabs.com/m/misc-movies/Alexander-Hamilton/

A master

And em7 do e7

A master

Wait what am I talking about do em7 by learning
https://ukutabs.com/t/the-beatles/eight-days-a-week/ even though it’s e7 it’s better than nothing!

ty

em works better than em7! <3

Kshskznaka

-2 is pretty easy for beginners 🥰

sk8er grl

poor eliza she didnt deserve what happened to her :(

JazzyOwO

Strumming pattern?

Hamilfan

It sounds better with just one strum per note.

oli the walrus

-7 is super easy to play, but sounds quite different from the original (which i suppose is to be expected)

Noam

I’m burning the letters
D= Gbm

Noam

“I’m burning the memories” D = Gbm

no one important

It was fairly easy, and for a strumming pattern I just use down for every single chord, and that’s it.

Layla_the_uke

-2 is quite easy, but with my tiny(ish) hands, I prefer to do Em7 instead of E :)
