Intro:
Em G
Lately, I've been, I've been thinking
                 C Am
I want you to be happier, I want you to be happier

Verse:
                 Em
When the morning comes
                         G
When we see what we've become
                                 C
In the cold light of day we're a flame in the wind
                          Am
Not the fire that we've begun

Pre-Chorus:
         Em G
Every argument, every word we can't take back

'Cause with the all that has happened
  C Am
I think that we both know the way that the story ends

Chorus:
     Em G
Then only for a minute
                    C
I want to change my mind
                             Am
'Cause this just don't feel right to me
  Em G
I want to raise your spirits
                  C
I want to see you smile but
                      Am
Know that means I'll have to leave

Interlude Em G C

Interlude:
                     Am
Know that means I'll have to leave
Em G
Lately, I've been, I've been thinking
                 C Am
I want you to be happier, I want you to be happier

Verse:
                  Em
When the evening falls
                              G
And I'm left there with my thoughts
                           C
And the image of you being with someone else
                          Am
Well, that's eating me up inside
              Em G
But we run our course, we pretended we're okay
                           C
Now if we jump together at least we can swim
                            Am
Far away from the wreck we made

Chorus:
     Em G
Then only for a minute
                    C
I want to change my mind
                             Am
'Cause this just don't feel right to me
  Em G
I want to raise your spirits
                  C
I want to see you smile but
                      Am
Know that means I'll have to leave

Interlude: Em G C

Verse:
                      Am

Lately, I've been, I've been thinking
                 C Am
I want you to be happier, I want you to be happier

Bridge:
        C G
So I'll go, I'll go
        D Em
I will go, go, go
        C G
So I'll go, I'll go
       D
I will go, go, go

Pre-Chorus:
Em G

                 C
I want you to be happier, I want you to be happier
Em G
Even though I might not like this
                       C Am D
I think that you'll be happier, I want you to be happier

Chorus:
     Em G
Then only for a minute
                    C
I want to change my mind
                             Am
'Cause this just don't feel right to me
  Em G
I want to raise your spirits

  1. After the last Am I play a D then G at the end it sounds really nice!

  2. strum pattern??

  3. SYD THE UKE MASTER (lol not really)

+7 works best for my voice range… 0 is too low for me but then I also have a messed up voice range so haha

  4. THIS IS AWESOME SONG

  5. For early beginners, I did -5 and replace Dm with C. I find it still sounds okay.

  6. +2 is super easy and sounds great

  7. -5 works well

  8. Anonymoose264

Either +2 or +7 are the easiest and sound the best

  9. so this is a great song great job with the chords. one thing though, if i were you, i would leave the Gm chord out. i feel like this song is supposed to sound more happy than sad and the Gm chord makes it sound a little more sad. great song though overall

  10. PenguinPlayer

do -5 for beginners with a capo on the 5th fret

  11. -5 is easier
